RPR’s Proactive Parents Training Program (“PPTP”) equips K-12 community members with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to advocate for student safety and optimal academic outcomes in all learning environments. PPTP is designed to inform parents of their rights and responsibilities in K-12 education.
Mission, Vision & Purpose
Our mission is to equip K-12 communities with the knowledge and skills to advocate for student safety, district transparency, and academic success. We envision every parent functioning as the primary authority of in their children’s learning experiences. We exist to foster and increase civic engagement in K-12 communities.
Program Details & Requirements
Training classes are delivered in a convenient online format to optimize collaborative problem-solving. Upon completion of courses, trainees should be minimally prepared to:
DEMONSTRATE knowledge of their roles and responsibilities in K-12 education
RESEARCH school policies and practices
PARTICIPATE in school board meetings, to include drafting and delivering public comments
CHALLENGE district policies and procedures that violate federal and state parental rights legislation
PPTP enrollment requires an admissions application and course registration. Trainees must be at least 18 years of age, have access to a computer or mobile device, and possess a willingness to learn in lecture-style or round-table format.
